Irish Castle in Killarney, Ireland
A magical place to find a Castle with its Lake and Mountain Views,

The sets on Castle walls in Ireland
Built on a rocky promontory this old Castle has charm seen nowhere else in Ireland.
As Irish Castles go this one in in the most idyllic setting imaginable. It is said that this was the last Castle in Ireland that fell to Cromwells army. It was a General Ludlow who was the responsible for the destruction of the Castle at Castlelough and Muckross abbey the same day in 1635AD.

Donal McCarthy was a doughty warrior with a passion for securing as many trophies from the plumed helmet of Elizabeth's troops . He is known in local tradition as "Dan The Feathers". He made such sport of them that the women were employed in his stronghold in the making of beds. He died quietly, but not before the English chivalry had dubbed him "The Robin of Munster".

Kerry Deer pass the Mc Carthy mor Castle in Killarney
Wild Deer roam the Grounds, once Fionn McCool and the Fianna hunted Deer on the shores of Lough Lein.

Some say you can hear voices from the past traveling in the wind from here. You can certainly hear the Ghost like noises from the Killarney Red Deer in the spring and in the Fall.
