Email : Book on Skellig's

A Boat trip to Skelligs : An Atlantic Ocean Island, 8 miles off the West Coast of Ireland, With World-famous Seabird colonies, magnificent scenery and the World's finest example of early Christian Monastic architecture on a cliff-top, 200 metres above the Sea.

A Boat trip in calm weather conditions only !!
Can be booked from the Lake Hotel

It is a 1.5 hour drive from the Lake Hotel to the departure dock at Portmagee

In Skellig waters you may also see seals and in season
even Basking Sharks and Dolphins

Enjoy the puffins – pompous little citizens of Skellig – who, in season, will scarcely step aside to let you pass. Listen to the nonstop arguments of the Kittiwakes at Cross Cove. Identify the chirping purr of the storm petrels that nest under virtually stone step of the way. Stop. Rest. Observe. And begin again.

Paragraph from Des Lavelle's Book

In summer season (Mid April to late September), Local operators run a daily boat trip to Skellig Michael - subject to the weather and sea conditions of the moment. Departure time is 10.00am, and the departure point is Portmagee harbour, a few miles off the Ring of Kerry route. The trip takes about 45 minutes, passing very close to Small Skellig and its 27,000 pairs of nesting gannets en route. But don’t have eyes only for the birds; a dolphin can also take flight! Visiting time on Skellig Michael is normally about 2 hours 30 minutes, giving you adequate time to tour the old monastic site 200 metres above the sea, and to admire the puffins, guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and fulmars nesting on the island from the end of April to the early days of August. You are normally back on the mainland by about 4 pm.

It is possibly the best Day Trip Ireland has to offer !!

Rate: Euro € 50 per person. Its well worth it !

5 ADVENTURE not to be missed !!
